Why yellow<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pad underneath is our standard build. Rubber facings, closed-cell EVA, 7\/8″ thick. What changes is pigment, and it goes in with the resin before the foam expands. So the yellow is the material itself. Scuff the cut edge and it stays yellow.<\/p>\n

Buyers pick it for two reasons. One is that you can see it. On a busy floor a black pad under a black machine base disappears, and nobody notices a compressor has walked off its pads until something starts rattling. Yellow shows up. The second reason has nothing to do with the pad. Resellers who already stock a blue-cored line use yellow to open a second SKU without their own customers mixing the two up.<\/p>\n

Performance is identical to the blue. We are not going to claim otherwise. If you do not need the visibility and you are not running two lines, order blue. It moves faster and we always have it.<\/p>\n

What the foam core does<\/strong><\/p>\n

Put a solid rubber pad under a washing machine. It barely compresses. Vibration gets absorbed when something deflects, and at these loads rubber is too stiff to deflect much on its own. The foam in the middle handles that part. Rubber stays on the outside where it takes the wear and holds the grip.<\/p>\n

Closed cell<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cells are sealed. Water sits on the surface and runs off. Same story for condensate under a coil, and for the oil mist that ends up on everything in a compressor room. Cork is different. It soaks moisture through the cut edge unless someone seals it. In oil it breaks down.<\/p>\n

Rib pattern<\/strong><\/p>\n

Straight ribs, full width, both faces. One side sits on the floor. The other takes the machine base. We do not run waffle or dimple.<\/p>\n

Cut to order<\/strong><\/p>\n

Specifications ask for 7\/8″ so that is what we stock. Ask for something else and we cut it. We foam our own sheet here, which means thickness and size are ours to set. Send a drawing. Or send a pad you already buy and we will copy it.<\/p>\n

Q: Is the yellow core a different material from the blue?<\/p>\n

A: No. Only the pigment changes.<\/p>\n

Q: Does the colour fade or rub off?
\nA: It is mixed into the resin before foaming, so the colour goes all the way through. Sanding the edge will not take it off.<\/p>\n

Q: Why pick yellow over blue?
\nA: Visibility, or to separate two product lines. Nothing to do with performance.<\/p>\n

Q: Can I have a colour that is neither blue nor yellow?
\nA: Yes. Send a Pantone reference.<\/p>\n

Q: What thicknesses do you cut?
\nA: 7\/8″ is stock. We cut 3\/8″ up to 1″. Full sheets too, if you cut on site.<\/p>\n
