Why buyers ask for cork
Because the drawing says cork. That is usually the whole conversation.
Mechanical schedules written decades ago called out cork and rubber by name, and plenty of those documents are still in circulation. A contractor bidding against one cannot swap the material without going back for approval, and nobody wants to open that file over a two-dollar pad. New specifications often copy the old clause forward without anyone questioning it.
So this is the compliance order. It is also what a plant engineer who has bought the same pad for twenty years recognises on sight.

What the cork does
Granulated cork, bonded into a slab, sitting between two rubber facings. It compresses under load and lets the pad deflect. Solid rubber at this thickness hardly moves, so it hands most of the vibration through to the floor.
Cork damps as well. The granules shift against each other under cyclic load and turn part of that energy into heat.
Where the EVA version is the better buy
Cork drinks water through the cut edge. Seal it and that stops. Leave it unsealed under a condenser standing in its own runoff and the core swells, then compresses out. Oil works on it over months.
Cork is brown and stays brown. Putting your own brand on the pad, the EVA-cored build foams to any Pantone you send.
None of that matters if the drawing says cork. Order cork.
Rib pattern
Straight ribs, full width, both faces. One side on the floor. The other under the machine base.
Cut to order
We laminate these on our own lines here, so the total thickness and the cork layer are ours to set. Send a drawing. Or send a pad you already buy and we will copy it, cork thickness included.
ЧАСТЫЕ ВОПРОСЫ
Q: My drawing calls for cork and rubber. Is this it?
A: Yes. Granulated cork core, rubber facings, ribbed on both sides. Send us the clause and we will check it against what we run.
Q: How thick is the cork layer?
A: It moves with the total thickness of the pad. Tell us the total and the cork depth your specification asks for and we laminate to it.
Q: Will the cork absorb water?
A: Through the cut edge, yes, unless it is sealed.
